卡尼：英國升息時間恐較預期早

彭博報導，英格蘭銀行（Bankof England）總裁卡尼（Mark Carney）指出，該行可能較投資人預期還要早將利率自歷史低點調高，並表達有關房市債務攀升恐損害穩定性的憂慮。

卡尼12日在倫敦市長官邸（Mansion House）演說時表示：「外界對首次升息時間已有相當多預期，這項決定將變得更加平衡。」「升息時間可能較市場目前預期提早。」卡尼演說後，英鎊走強。

轉強的英國經濟提高升息展望，但卡尼表示，借貸成本增加恐令經濟復甦脫軌。為阻止這種風險，卡尼表示已準備好採取行動。

英國央行本月決議維持主要利率在0.5%不變，已超過5年維持利率在歷來最低水準。

根據依英鎊隔夜銀行間均值的遠期合約，投資人預測明年4月前，英國將調高主要利率25個基點。

英鎊兌美元12日升值0.6%，截至倫敦下午9時12分，報1英鎊兌1.6891美元。
