多維新聞分析，按照大陸外交體系慣例，已經當過外交部長的國務委員楊潔篪，理應高於現任外交部長王毅，但觀察近來多起事件，王毅儼然才是國家主席習近平之下的「外交一哥」。

分析稱，大陸外交體系中，領導人親自抓外交已經是慣例，主席之後就是國務委員和外長。楊潔篪升任國務委員，應屬外交二把手，但王毅以「個性化的存在」，從日本、北韓，到南海問題，聲勢壓倒楊潔篪。

分析指出，尤其是前不久的東南亞國協外交部長會議，王毅「突然」拋出南海雙軌，明確點出「爭議由當事國協商談判」、「南海和平由中國與東協共同維護」，格外凸顯王毅的臨機應變。

早前幾次「公開演出」，楊潔篪的中規中矩，王毅顯然更為靈活、更能切中人心。例如回應日本問題，王毅說「2014年不是1914年，2014年更不是1894年，與其拿一戰前的德國來做文章，不如以二戰後的德國來作榜樣」。

此外，楊潔篪擔任大陸國務委員以來，大陸對美外交的重要表態基本上由駐美大使崔天凱發表，對日本、北韓、南海問題的重大表態都是由王毅親自上陣，顯見楊潔篪的角色弱化。(中央社)
