澳網地主希望基里洛斯，5盤激戰晉8強

今年澳網男單有湯米奇和基里洛斯擔綱「地主希望」，但湯米奇稍早以直落三輸給第7種子柏帝奇，基里洛斯力拚澳洲球迷的最後希望，激戰5盤，最終以5：7、4：6、6：3、7：6（7：5）、8：6扳倒義大利的塞皮、站上8強。

基里洛斯去年溫布頓爆冷逼退納達爾後一戰成名，這是他繼溫布頓後第2次站上大滿貫8強舞台。

此役開賽基里洛斯失誤較多，但塞皮先拿兩盤後，基里洛斯的發球逐漸加溫。全場他發出25個「愛司」，上演輸2贏3的大逆轉。

第5盤基里洛斯先取得4：1領先，但塞皮追到5：5平手，雙方都各有破發機會。基里洛斯在最後14局時把握機會，讓勝利到手，8強對上墨瑞或是迪米特洛夫。
