大學研究所提供的網路安全學程五花八門，英國情報機構「政府通訊總部」 (GCHQ)行文各大學，建議學校在6月20日前申請接受GCHQ認證。GCHQ表示，認證制度可確保公、私部門的資訊安全人員來源無虞。
